Just want to add two notes to this issue for anyone having issues with whitelisting XSLTs.

1. The paths are apparently relative to the site root, but use backward slashes.

2. The setting "None - DataBind Only" for DisplayXSLT will throw errors and cause some other issues.  Removing it resolves the problems.

We are looking at upgrading from 8.02 sp2 to sp3 and I was looking to see what files are changing with that upgrade.  I looked in the release notes and I'm not seeing that type of information.  Does anyone have a list of changed or modified files for this upgrade?

Does this version fix the issue with extra Ektron js and css files being outputed in the head and not being minified or combined?

We have some high traffic sites where we are working to make the page as small as possible as well as use page builder and we seem to get lots of extra Ektron js and css.

Could you let me know where the full release notes are ? At the London User group it was announced that SP3 would include a change to Esync to allow DLLS to be managed , however the notes for SP3 dont mention it. So Im guessing that the SP3 release notes you have published are cut down version.

Can I see the full release notes ? I need to know what Esync issues have been resolved, http://dev.ektron.com/cms400releasenotes.aspx would suggest that me upgrading wouldnt be worth the effort as there isnt any Esync items mentioned in the release.

Thanks for posting the announcement. If I may offer some constructive criticism, I think Ektron could and should do a better job getting the word out about these sorts of updates.

I didn't see any email regarding this. Ektron's sales folks are really good about letting me know about upcoming webinars, but I think it's much more important that you send proactive emails about important product updates. I've now subscribed to this Product Announcements forum, but I don't think customers with support contracts should have to take that step to get such news.

Also I'd like to have a general sense of the vulnerability of unpatched systems -- what's the worst an attacker could do? What privileges are required to exploit the problem? If user/membership privs are required, can something like XSS or CSRF be used to trick an unwitting person into delivering the attack payload? What components are involved/is there a workaround? Etc. This would help me decide how, and how quickly, to respond to the problem.

It might be nice to clarify what the status is for older versions -- I still see posts from folks running pre-7.0 software, and it would be good to either reassure them that their installs are safe, or remind them that you're no longer producing patches for older code (if that's the case).

Perhaps any issues that have been resolved? Mention of the fact the .Net 3.5 is required? Mention of the fact that SQL 2008 is supported? Mention of what licensing issues may be encountered under the new model?

Issues Resolved:


Editing an alias in the workarea causes the alias to break.
When the users edit the alias for content on the content itself, the alias_logical in the database is changed to have the entity code for the &, which causes the alias to be broken. Issue resolved in 7.04.

 

Web Alerts should have the ability to send a Smart Form using a custom XSLT
Currently when a Web Alert is sent out, it uses the Packaged XSLT, even when one of the other 4 XSLTs are selected to be used. The Web Alerts feature should allow the use of these custom XSLTs for the Smart Form. Issue resolved in 7.04.

 

Site replication w/ Virtual Directories
With a virtual directory setup for Uploaded Images and Uploaded Files, files are not being replicated over properly. Issue resolved in 7.04.

 

QuickDeploy should not send asset files if only the metadata changed
Quickdeploy will be changed to check for file content CRCs and if they match, it will only send the metadata and update the timestamp for that file. Issue resolved in 7.04.

 

Metadata definition names problem
There is now an alert when trying to save DateCreated, DateModified, GoLiveDate, ExpiryDate, ExpiryType, TaxCategory, ContentID, ContentLanguage, ContentType, FolderId, QuickLink, FolderName, MapLongitude, MapLatitude, MapAddress, EDescription, Keywords, Title, MetaInfo, CMSPath, CMSSize, InPerm, and Searchable.

 

Index searching not functioning for multiple check boxes
I created a smart form that consisted of 3 check boxes i created 3 pieces of content each time excluding one value. when i ran the search checking the first box returned the correct result. The second and third didn't return the correct results. actually returned nothing.

 

Running SearchConfigUI after on Server 2003 after upgrade from Server 2000 causes search to throw exception
There was a setting the registry that was missed due to this specifi configuration. Now resolved in searchconfig and searchconfigui.exe.

 

Form submissions causes temp files to be placed in the windows temp directory.
Submissions of forms, polls and certain XSLT transforms were causing temp dll files to be created in the windows temp folder and never removed. This is now resolved in 7.04.
